Minor Bihar girl, working as maid, files physical & sexual abuse case against Kolkata couple

A 14-years-old girl, originally a resident of Bihar, has filed a complaint against a Kolkata couple at Entally police station. As per reports, the girl, who was working as a maid in the Gorachand Road situated flat, was brutally tortured and abused by the hands of the flat owners for 3 months. As per her ordeal, she was slapped, thrashed and even recieved death threats against her parents.

She arrived three months back via a relative's promise of steady work to look ater the couple's three-month-old baby. She used to do chores like cooking, cleaning, taking care of the infant among others. However, she met with vicious beatings whenever the child wailed, leaving bruises blooming across her arms, legs, and face. If this was not enough, by night, as she curled on the cold floor, the man of the house would allegedly slink in for sexual assaults.

The neighbors helped the little girl escape and file a complaint. Police wasted no time, slapping charges under the POCSO Act for the sexual predation, alongside counts of assault, grievous hurt, criminal intimidation, and child labor violations against the couple. Further investigation is underway.
