Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
A fire erupted at a printing press in the Amherst Street area of Kolkata early this morning. The blaze immediately engulfed the facility. Local residents first spotted thick black smoke billowing out from the printing press early on Thursday morning. They immediately informed the local fire department and police.
Four fire engines rushed to the scene. However, the severely congested nature of the area posed significant difficulties for the fire brigade personnel in accessing the building and beginning containment operations. A large quantity of highly flammable materials was reportedly stored within the printing press.
Initial assessments by the fire department suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. Reports indicate that the devastating fire has also caused damage to several surrounding shops.
