Nine passengers were injured after a NewGo Electric bus overturned on the Outer Ring Road near Pedda Amberpet in Telangana on Saturday. The bus, traveling from Hyderabad to Guntur, reportedly hit a railing while taking a curve and overturned, police said.
Out of the 15 passengers onboard, nine sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals. Officials confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening. The bus, operated by private company NewGo Electric, was reportedly carrying more than 20 passengers at the time of the accident.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the driver’s alleged negligence led to the mishap. “The driver appears to have lost control while negotiating the curve,” said a police officer, adding that a detailed probe is underway. The incident has reignited concerns over road safety and maintenance standards of private operators, especially as it occurred just a day after another bus accident in Kurnool.
