No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A devastating road accident on the Bharat Mala Expressway near Jodhpur tragically claimed the lives of eighteen people late Sunday night when the tempo traveller they were traveling in crashed violently into a stationary truck. The deceased victims, all residents of the Phalodi area of Jodhpur, were returning home after completing a pilgrimage to the sacred Kolayat temple, located approximately 220 kilometers away.
According to Phalodi Superintendent of Police Kundan Kanwaria, the impact of the collision was exceptionally severe. Deputy Superintendent of Police Achal Singh Deora confirmed that the speeding tempo traveller rammed into the truck, which was parked on the roadside, resulting in the traveller being completely mangled and several passengers being instantly trapped inside the twisted wreckage.
The force of the collision made rescue operations extremely challenging. Phalodi Police Station Officer Amanaram stated, “The bodies were stuck in the seats due to the force of the collision. We faced great difficulty in removing them.” Police teams, aided by local residents and passing motorists, worked tirelessly late into the night, using all available resources to retrieve the deceased and assist the injured.
