Trio gangraped 1st year PG student after attacking her boyfriend near Coimbatore airport

In a deserted area near Coimbatore International Airport, a young couple around 11 p.m yesterday night, a 20-year-old first-year postgraduate student and her boyfriend had pulled over on a plot of land near Brindhavan Nagar-SIHS Colony Road when three unidentified men emerges and broke one of the glass windows with a stone and opened the car door. The trio attacked the man, before taking her to another area nearby and gangrape.

Coimbatore City Police got to know about the incident after being alerted by the man, following which searches were carried out in the locality. The police found the college student a few hours later in a deserted area. The boyfriend has been admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
