Remove BJP from Centre, they win in Assam using fake voters, says Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing it of manipulating voter lists and spreading misinformation using artificial intelligence. Addressing a public meeting, she claimed that the BJP plans to remove around two crore names from Bengal’s voter list ahead of the upcoming elections.

“Speaking Bengali doesn’t make everyone Bangladeshi, just as speaking Hindi or Urdu doesn’t make everyone Pakistani,” Mamata said, calling the BJP’s propaganda divisive and dangerous. She warned that if even one genuine voter’s name was removed, she would “topple the BJP government.”

Banerjee further alleged that BJP leaders were distorting her statements using AI-generated videos and fake news to defame her. “They use fake clips to spread lies because they cannot fight me politically,” she said, accusing the ruling party of winning elections “with money, not votes.”

The Chief Minister also slammed the alleged discrepancies in the voter list, citing an example from Alipurduar where over 500 names were reportedly deleted. She reiterated that no citizen should have to prove their nationality repeatedly. “Before 1947, India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan were one — who will you call an outsider now?” she asked, also alleging that the BJP misused agencies like the ED to target her party’s MLAs.
