Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha’s convoy came under attack in his home constituency, Lakhisarai, on Thursday afternoon. Stones and slippers were thrown at his vehicle as a crowd blocked the convoy and raised “murdabad” slogans during polling day.
Sinha, a senior BJP leader and three-time MLA from the region, was visiting polling booths when the incident occurred. The Deputy Chief Minister alleged that the protesters were “RJD-backed goons” trying to disrupt the voting process and intimidate voters.
“The NDA government is coming back to power in Bihar. We will run bulldozers on their chest,” Sinha said after the attack, visibly angered but unhurt. Police officials, however, maintained that the confrontation appeared to be a protest by local villagers rather than a politically orchestrated assault.
Authorities have since restored order in the area, and additional forces were deployed to prevent further disturbances. Voting continued peacefully after the incident, police said.
