Police seize over 2,500 kg of explosives from another rented house of J&K doctor

In a massive development, Faridabad Police recovered 2,563 kilograms of explosives from a house in Fatehpur Taga village on Monday, just hours after seizing 350 kilograms of explosives, arms, and ammunition from another location in the city. The discoveries were made during a joint operation by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police following inputs from an earlier terror-related arrest.

The accused, identified as Mujammil, a resident of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, worked at Al Falah Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad. He had been living in the Dhoj area for over three years and had rented both the properties where the explosives were found. Police have also detained a local Maulana who rented out the second house to Mujammil.

Earlier in the day, authorities seized 350 kilograms of suspected ammonium nitrate, 20 timers, four battery timers, a Krinkov assault rifle, 83 live rounds, a pistol, and two magazines. The recovery followed the arrest of another doctor, Adil Ahmad Rather, for allegedly supporting the proscribed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. His interrogation led to raids that exposed Mujammil’s links.

Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta said investigations are underway to determine the source and purpose of the explosives. “How the weapons arrived here and where they came from is still a matter of investigation,” he said. Both doctors are currently being interrogated for possible links to terror organisations and sleeper cells in northern India.
