"Kolkata to get Water Metro connectivity," says Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari
A tragic incident was reported from Bihar’s Buxar district where a woman and her two children died after allegedly consuming pesticides. The incident took place in the Purab Tola locality under the Naya Bhojpur police station limits on Tuesday evening.
According to police, 30-year-old Sabita Devi allegedly ingested pesticides following an altercation with her husband and also gave them to her three children — seven-year-old Jyoti, five-year-old Akash, and one-year-old Vikash. While Sabita and two of her children were declared dead on arrival at Buxar Sadar Hospital, the youngest child is in critical condition and has been referred to Patna for advanced treatment.
Officials confirmed that preliminary investigation suggests the consumption of pesticides. A team has been sent to Buxar Sadar Hospital for further inquiries. The police have begun an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading to the deaths.
Sabita’s husband, Sunil Kumar, a mason by profession, told reporters that she was his third wife. Family members reportedly rushed Sabita and the children to a nearby hospital after their condition deteriorated, but doctors could not save three of them.
