A 22-year-old man died in a horrific road accident late on Tuesday night in the Talipada area under Newtown police station. The deceased, identified as Tushar Vaidya, was reportedly riding his motorcycle from Talipada towards Mission Bazaar when the crash occurred. According to police and local witnesses, Tushar was speeding and attempted to overtake a car when he lost control of the bike.
His motorcycle collided with another vehicle, causing him to skid off the road. A vehicle approaching from behind tried to brake, but Tushar and his motorcycle fell directly in front of the vehicle ahead. The impact left him with severe head injuries.
Locals rushed him to the hospital immediately after the collision. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival due to the seriousness of his injuries. His family and the local community have been left in shock.
Newtown has recorded several similar incidents in recent months, particularly involving young bikers and scooter riders. Residents say speeding and reckless overtaking remain a major concern on stretches connecting Talipada and Mission Bazaar.
