Bengal excise officials raids a liquor shop in Chuchura, seizes over 1000 expired beer bottles

In a surprise raid, the West Bengal Excise Department cracked down on a liquor shop in Chuchura town after customers complained of being sold expired beer. Officials stormed the store, recovered more than one thousand bottles of beer that had crossed their expiry dates, and immediately sealed the entire godown. The sudden action sent shockwaves in that area as word spread quickly among locals.

As per reports, several buyers had fallen sick after consuming the stale beer in recent days, prompting the department to act swiftly. During the search, officers found boxes of different brands stacked in the godown with expiry dates going back several months. The shop owner could not produce proper stock records when asked, leading to the immediate sealing of the premises and seizure of all expired stock of alcohol for further testing.

The raid has once again highlighted the need for strict checks on liquor outlets. Bengal Excise officials have warned that regular surprise inspections will continue across the state to stop the sale of unsafe alcohol. Locals have welcomed the move and demanded heavy fines so that no shop dares to put public health at risk for extra profit.
