A robbery took place at a motorcycle showroom near Howrah Salp High Road after unidentified miscreants allegedly broke the lock of the shutter. The showroom, located on the ground floor of a residential awasan, was first noticed in a ransacked state by local residents on Thursday morning.
According to showroom manager Sheikh Amiruddin, the residents immediately alerted him after spotting the broken lock. He said that upon reaching the spot, he found the lock broken, vehicles pushed outside, and the cash storage disrupted.
The manager claimed that around ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakh kept inside the showroom had been stolen. Following the incident, the local police station was informed, and a formal complaint has been lodged. Police have begun preliminary verification based on the manager’s statement.
