PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Kolkata Metro Railway has brought big relief for more than thousands of students appearing in the West Bengal Judicial Service Preliminary Examination this Sunday by starting services one hour earlier on the two busiest lines. Keeping the examinees in mind, Blue Line (Dakshineswar – Kavi Subhash) and Green Line (Howrah Maidan – Sector V) will begin operations from 8 am instead of the usual Sunday timing of 9 am or later. This small but thoughtful change will help lakhs of candidates reach their exam centres without tension.
On the Blue Line, a total of 136 trains (68 up + 68 down) will run. First train from Dakshineswar will leave at 8:00 am (instead of 9:00 am) and from Shahid Khudiram at 9:04 am. The last trains will follow the normal Sunday schedule – 9:30 pm from Shahid Khudiram towards Dakshineswar and 9:33 pm the other way.
On the Green Line, 110 trains (55 each side) are planned, with the first train from Howrah Maidan at 9:00 am and from Sector V at 9:02 am. Last trains remain unchanged at 9:45 pm and 9:47 pm.Yellow Line will run as usual on Sunday, but Purple and Orange Lines will stay completely closed as they do every Sunday. Metro authorities request all judicial exam candidates to use Blue and Green Lines and plan their journey early to avoid last-minute rush.
