A devastating fire engulfed 'Birch By Romeo Lane', a popular nightclub in North Goa's Arpora, resulting in the tragic death of 25 people and injuries to six others. The deadly blaze began last night during a widely publicized 'Bollywood Banger Night' event, which was being enjoyed by approximately 100 tourists when disaster struck.
Initial moments of the fire, captured on video, show a dancer performing to the famous Sholay chartbuster 'Mehbooba o Mehbooba'. She was surrounded by musicians and a cheering crowd, indicating the high energy of the evening just moments before the tragedy.
The footage suddenly shows flames appearing over the music console located behind the dancer. Two individuals, identified as club staff, were seen rushing towards the console to quickly remove a laptop positioned directly below the emerging flames. In the initial confusion, the crowd remained largely unalarmed. A chilling moment captured on video shows someone complimenting the dancer, mistakenly saying, "aag laga di aapne" (you started a fire). However, the mood shifted rapidly as the fire began to spread.
As the blaze grew, musicians were seen abandoning their instruments and moving toward safety. Within moments, the dancer, the staff, and people in the crowd realized the gravity of the situation and started heading for the exits. The flames were visible spreading rapidly across the ceiling, indicating the fire was quickly consuming the structure.
