West Indies cricket legend Gary Sobers passes away; was first to smash 6 sixes in 6 balls
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has officially ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the recently suspended Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA, Humayun Kabir. The rejection comes immediately after Kabir laid the foundation stone for a mosque in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, which he intends to model on Ayodhya's demolished Babri Masjid.
AIMIM spokesperson Syed Asim Waqar strongly distanced the party from Kabir, alleging a connection to the opposition. Waqar said that, according to their information, Kabir is an integral "member of the core team of Bengal’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari," asserting that Adhikari, in turn, is closely associated with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The spokesperson added that Owaisi's party aligns with nation-builders, not those who "want to destroy peace and communal harmony," implying Kabir’s actions were politically motivated.
Reacting to the AIMIM's strong denial, Humayun Kabir dismissed the accusations, suggesting that calling Owaisi a "BJP’s agent" is merely part of politics. While confirming that some people close to Owaisi had contacted him, Kabir retorted that he does not need the AIMIM, stating, "If Owaisi wants to contest polls in Bengal, then he needs me. I don’t need him," setting the stage for a potential political showdown in the state.
