Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
Bidhannagar East Police have registered a case regarding the theft of a gold bangle from a child at a café in Salt Lake. The complaint was lodged by Sourabh Hirawat (32), a resident of Phoolbagan, on November 25, 2025. The incident occurred on November 22, 2025, between 2:35 PM and 2:45 PM, when his wife and child were attending a birthday celebration at "The Purple Blend Cafe" located at BG-25, Sector-II, Salt Lake.
During the celebration, the family noticed that a gold bangle worn on the right hand of their child was missing. After an immediate search and reviewing the cafe's CCTV footage, Sourabh Hirawat came to the strong belief that a car driver, identified as Shahid, was responsible for stealing the single gold bangle. Following the formal written complaint, Bidhannagar East PS initiated Case No-84/25 U/S 303(2) BNS.
Based on the evidence and the details provided, SI Roki Biswas, along with his team, conducted a swift raid at the suspected location in Shibpur, Howrah. The team successfully arrested the accused, Md. Sahid (39), S/O Lt. Md. Gulzar, a resident of Cowies Ghat Road, Shibpur, Howrah. The accused is scheduled to be presented before the Court of Ld. ACJM, Bidhannagar, with a prayer for police custody for further investigation into the theft.
