Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Aditya Dhar's spy-action spectacle Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has officially crossed the ₹800 crore milestone at the global box office. The film achieved this feat on its 17th day, maintaining an extraordinary pace despite facing stiff competition from James Cameron’s Hollywood blockbuster Avatar: Fire & Ash. By surpassing this benchmark, Dhurandhar has solidified its position as the highest-grossing Bollywood film released in 2025.
In the domestic market, the film has amassed a net total of ₹555.5 crore, according to estimates from trade analyst Sacnilk. This performance has propelled the movie into the elite list of the top ten highest-grossing Indian films of all time in terms of domestic net collections. Specifically, it has overtaken Ranbir Kapoor’s 2023 hit Animal, which previously held the tenth spot with a lifetime collection of ₹553 crore in India.
The year 2025 has proved to be a historic one for Indian cinema, with Dhurandhar becoming the third film this year to enter the all-time top ten list. It follows Rishab Shetty's Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, which leads with ₹622 crore, and Vicky Kaushal's historical drama Chhaava, which earned ₹601 crore. The film’s success is attributed to its high-octane action, a viral soundtrack that topped global Spotify charts, and the strong performance of its ensemble cast, including Akshaye Khanna and R. Madhavan.
Despite the release of the third Avatar installment, Dhurandhar showed significant growth on its third Sunday, proving that the "Dhurandhar wave" remains strong among local audiences. Trade experts predict that the film will continue its dominant run for another week before transitioning to OTT platforms. With a sequel already planned for Eid 2026, the success of this first installment has established a new powerhouse franchise in the Indian spy-thriller genre.
