In a heart-wrenching incident in Lucknow’s upscale Hazratganj area, two sisters allegedly took their own lives, reportedly distressed over the prolonged illness of their beloved pet dog. The deceased, identified as 45-year-old Aradhana and 42-year-old Archana, were found dead inside their residence on Thursday. The sisters lived together and were known to be deeply attached to their pet, which had been suffering from a serious ailment for a long time.
According to the local police, the sisters had been under immense emotional stress due to the deteriorating health of the dog. Neighbors and relatives mentioned that the duo had tried every possible treatment for the pet, but the lack of recovery pushed them into a state of severe depression. The tragedy came to light when a domestic help reached the house and found the doors locked from the inside, prompting the authorities to break in.
A suicide note was recovered from the spot, in which the sisters reportedly mentioned their inability to see their pet in pain. They expressed that they could not imagine a life without the dog and felt that taking this extreme step was the only way to escape the emotional trauma. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are examining the note to confirm the sequence of events leading up to the incident.
