A freak road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur claimed the life of a car driver after an overloaded truck overturned and crushed his vehicle. The incident occurred on Sunday near Pahadi Gate under the Ganj police station area, causing shock among locals and commuters.
According to police, the truck, which was carrying husk, lost balance after hitting a road divider and toppled onto a Bolero car moving alongside it. The impact was so severe that the car was completely flattened under the truck. The driver of the car, identified as Firasat, a resident of the Ganj police station area, died on the spot.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and launched rescue operations immediately. A JCB machine was used to remove the debris and retrieve the body from the mangled vehicle. The deceased was later sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
Traffic was disrupted for some time following the accident but was later restored after the truck was removed using a crane. Senior police officials inspected the spot, and further legal proceedings are currently underway.
