CBSE changes Class 10, 12 board exam dates | Check new schedule here

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially rescheduled specific papers for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations originally set for March 3, 2026. According to an official notification, the decision was necessitated by administrative reasons. While most of the board exam schedule remains unchanged, these specific adjustments have been made to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination process nationwide.

For Class 10 students, the exams for various language and elective subjects—including German, Japanese, Spanish, NCC, and Mizo—have been moved from March 3 to March 11, 2026. This change affects a wide range of regional and foreign language papers, as well as vocational subjects like Elements of Book Keeping and Accountancy. Students are advised to take careful note of the new date to avoid any confusion during their final preparation phase.

Class 12 students face a more significant shift, as their Legal Studies examination, previously scheduled for March 3, has been postponed by over a month. This paper will now be conducted on April 10, 2026. CBSE has clarified that no other subjects in the Class 12 datesheet have been affected by this revision, and all other exams will proceed as per the original timeline shared earlier by the board.

The board has instructed schools to immediately communicate these changes to students and parents. The revised dates will also be reflected in the final admit cards when they are issued. Candidates are encouraged to continue their preparation for all other subjects as per the original schedule and stay in touch with their respective schools for any further official updates or clarifications regarding the 2026 boards.
