India Women beats Sri Lanka by 15 runs; Whitewash series 5-0

The Indian women’s team etched their name in history by completing a dominant 5-0 series whitewash against Sri Lanka at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. In the final T20I on Tuesday, India secured a 15-run victory, successfully defending a total of 175. This triumph marks only the third time the Indian women have achieved a 5-0 clean sweep in a T20I series, following similar feats against the West Indies in 2019 and Bangladesh in 2024.

Batting first, India faced early tremors as the inform Shafali Verma departed cheaply. However, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur rose to the occasion, anchoring the innings with a masterful 68 off just 43 balls.
