Railways cancel multiple local trains on Howrah-Tarkeshwar route from tonight | See List

The Eastern Railway has announced a significant disruption in suburban services on the Tarakeswar branch of the Howrah division. Starting from Saturday night, a total of 18 up and down local trains have been cancelled to facilitate essential maintenance and developmental work. This three-day traffic and power block is being implemented for infrastructure upgrades at Tarakeswar station, construction of a Foot Over Bridge (FOB), and work between the Arambagh and Mayapur stations.

According to the official schedule, three trains were cancelled on Saturday night, followed by the cancellation of 12 local trains on Sunday, January 4. The disruption will continue into Monday, January 5, with another three trains remaining off the tracks. Regular commuters, who rely heavily on these services for daily travel to Kolkata and surrounding districts, are likely to face significant hardship during this period.
