Humayun Kabir faces 'go back' slogans from Trinamool workers at Brigade ground

High drama unfolded at the Brigade Parade Grounds on Monday when suspended Trinamool Congress leader Humayun Kabir arrived to inspect the venue for a proposed rally. As Kabir began surveying the field, a group of Trinamool workers gathered and launched into a series of "Go Back" slogans, expressing their fierce opposition to his presence. Despite the hostile environment, the veteran leader continued his inspection, aiming to hold a massive gathering between January 31 and the first week of February.

Speaking to the media after the inspection, Kabir made no secret of his aggressive stance against the ruling party. He called for the "uprooting" of the current Trinamool government, stating that West Bengal is in dire need of a government with a "clean image." His visit today was a preliminary step toward seeking formal permission from the authorities for his planned political demonstration, which he intends to be a display of strength against his former party.

Addressing the religious and political controversies surrounding his recent statements, Kabir remained defiant. When asked about his comments regarding the Babri Masjid, he asserted that a masjid would be built and the rally would go on regardless of what others had to say. "It doesn't matter who said what; our mission remains unchanged," he stated, reinforcing his hardline position that has already led to his suspension from the TMC.
