'Triumph of humanity': Abhishek Banerjee as Sonali Khatun gives birth after forced deportation

Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee expressed deep joy and sympathy on the news that Sonali Khatun gave birth to a healthy son at Rampurhat Medical College in Birbhum. He described the event not just as a birth, but as a victory of humanity and courage against injustice.

Banerjee condemned the actions of Delhi Police and the central government, who had falsely labeled Sonali Khatun as Bangladeshi and forcibly sent her across the border. He called this a gross misuse of power and a direct attack on constitutional values, emphasizing that it violated her dignity, rights, and human respect.

Despite facing extreme hardship and mental trauma, Sonali Khatun showed extraordinary courage and patience. Banerjee said the safe birth of both mother and child symbolizes hope for society and a triumph of justice, compassion, and humanity.

Abhishek Banerjee announced that during his visit to Birbhum, he will personally meet Sonali Khatun and her newborn at Rampurhat Medical College to extend his best wishes. He added, “This incident reminds us that no matter how great the injustice, humanity and truth ultimately prevail.”
