Kolkata police have taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims traveling to Gangasagar. Lalbazar officials have instructed all police stations in Kolkata and South 24 Parganas to implement necessary steps for smooth transit.
Special kiosks have been set up in Thakurpukur and Churial along the main route to provide tea, water, biscuits, dry food, and medical aid to travelers. Police personnel are stationed 24 hours at these points to assist anyone in need.
Extra buses are kept ready near the kiosks to address any breakdowns during the journey. Officers are coordinating closely with South 24 Parganas and Diamond Harbour district police to ensure uninterrupted travel for pilgrims.
Sadhus, saints, and other travelers have started arriving at the Gangasagar grounds. Additional CCTV cameras have been installed in the area, and police are maintaining constant surveillance to ensure safety and order.
Lalbazar is also monitoring social media to prevent rumors and misinformation from spreading, while ensuring coordination among various police units. The overall focus remains on smooth, secure, and well-supported transit for pilgrims.
