TMC road blockades, marches erupt across Bengal after ED raid on I-PAC office

Protests and road blockades erupted in multiple districts of West Bengal following the Enforcement Directorate’s raid on I-PAC’s office. Trinamool Congress leaders accused the central government of targeting opposition parties out of political revenge, while party workers raised slogans against the Centre. Demonstrations reflected anger over what the party described as attempts to stall Bengal’s development.

In Kolkata’s Lake Town, a long procession was taken out from South Beard Bird Company to Dumdum Park. On the Chief Minister’s instructions, similar marches were organized in several districts, including a procession from South Badi in the Vidhan Nagar Assembly area. Trinamool leaders emphasized unity and called on supporters to peacefully demonstrate against what they termed political vendetta.

In Asansol, protesters blocked NH 19 and set tires on fire, jamming traffic for about half an hour. Party workers actively participated in the demonstrations, which highlighted the growing tension between the state and the central government. The protests mark a significant escalation in political mobilization following the I-PAC raid.
