Adhikari accused the state administration of fostering a “culture of violence and impunity”, claiming that police officers present at the spot remained silent spectators during the alleged attack. He termed the incident not just a personal assault but an attack on democratic opposition voices in West Bengal.
Following the incident, Adhikari said he began a dharna inside the Chandrakona police station, demanding immediate action and arrests. He asserted that he would continue the protest until accountability is fixed, alleging that the ruling party is resorting to intimidation amid growing public anger.
