Suvendu Adhikari alleges attack by ‘TMC goons’ while returning from Purulia, sits on dharna at police station

Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday night alleged that he was “viciously attacked” by Trinamool Congress supporters while returning from Purulia. According to his statement, the incident occurred around 8:20 pm at Chandrakona Road in Paschim Medinipur district, allegedly in the presence of police personnel.

Adhikari accused the state administration of fostering a “culture of violence and impunity”, claiming that police officers present at the spot remained silent spectators during the alleged attack. He termed the incident not just a personal assault but an attack on democratic opposition voices in West Bengal.

Following the incident, Adhikari said he began a dharna inside the Chandrakona police station, demanding immediate action and arrests. He asserted that he would continue the protest until accountability is fixed, alleging that the ruling party is resorting to intimidation amid growing public anger.
