The victim, identified as Tarak Barik, was shot during a chaotic scuffle when he and other residents attempted to intervene in a heated argument involving three other youths. Tarak was immediately rushed to Howrah District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment for his injuries.
The incident reportedly began when an altercation broke out between three individuals—two locals identified as Suchit Singh and Raj Pandey, and a third unidentified outsider.
