The Election Commission has extended the deadline for submitting applications under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, offering relief to eligible voters. Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 can now be submitted till January 19, 2026, instead of the earlier January 15 deadline.
The extension allows citizens to apply for inclusion of names, deletion, or correction of personal details in the electoral roll. Eligible applicants can submit the required forms to their respective Booth Level Officers in their local areas until January 19, which falls on a Monday.
Alongside offline submissions, the Election Commission has kept online facilities fully operational. Citizens can apply by downloading the ECINET mobile application or by visiting the voters.eci.gov.in website to complete the process from home.
Officials said the decision was taken to ensure that no eligible voter is left out due to time constraints or technical issues. The move is expected to help improve the accuracy and completeness of the electoral rolls ahead of upcoming elections.
The Commission has urged citizens to verify their voter details at the earliest and submit applications within the extended deadline if required. Voters can also seek assistance through the 1950 helpline for any electoral roll-related queries.
