Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
An 18-year-old Class 12 student died after falling from the second floor of SD Girls School in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred when she had come to the school to appear for her biology practical examination.
The student, identified as Ramandeep Kaur, daughter of Vijay Kumar, was reportedly unwell and was accompanied by her mother and brother to the examination centre. According to police, the incident took place around 4.15 pm, shortly after she completed her practical exam.
Police said Ramandeep fell from the second floor towards the hall area of the school while returning after the examination. Her mother and brother were waiting outside the examination laboratory at the time of the incident.
Family members and school staff immediately rushed the injured student to a nearby private hospital using a school bus. Due to her critical condition, she was referred to the District Hospital, Sriganganagar, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police officials said the body has been kept in the mortuary for post-mortem examination. While the incident appears to be accidental prima facie, police have initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fall, which will be clearer after the post-mortem report.
