“TMC is insensitive and ruthless”: PM Modi says ‘paltano dorkar’ in Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress while addressing a public rally in Malda, calling the party “extremely insensitive and ruthless” and urging voters to bring change in West Bengal. He alleged that corruption at the state level was depriving people of benefits sent by the Centre.

Modi said the Centre wants every poor household in Bengal to have a permanent home and free ration, but claimed these schemes are not reaching beneficiaries. “The money sent for the poor is being looted by TMC leaders,” he said, adding that the Trinamool government had become an enemy of both him and the people of Bengal.

Linking Bengal’s future with India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, the Prime Minister cited BJP’s governance record in Odisha, Tripura, Assam and Bihar. He said Bengal is surrounded by BJP-ruled states and asserted that it was now time for “sushasan” in the state.

Raising the election pitch, Modi led a call-and-response chant of “paltano dorkar” with the crowd replying “chai BJP sarkar.” He accused the state government of blocking central schemes like Ayushman Bharat and said Bengal was the only state where the health scheme was not implemented.

Highlighting local concerns, Modi said Malda lacked industries, forcing migration, and alleged neglect of mango farmers and flood-hit residents. Referring to erosion along the Ganga and Fulahar rivers, he claimed flood relief funds were looted and promised permanent solutions and better infrastructure if BJP forms the government.
