Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
Senior Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Saugata Roy was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Sunday night after his health deteriorated. Family members said he was rushed to the hospital as a precautionary measure when he fell ill. Doctors treating him said his condition is stable and he remains under medical observation.
Reports said Roy has a history of health-related issues and has been hospitalised multiple times in the past. He was admitted to hospital in July last year and had earlier complained of chest pain and breathing difficulties, which required medical attention. He is known to be suffering from type-2 diabetes.
In April last year, his health worsened during a public event in Ariadaha, following which he was hospitalised and a pacemaker was implanted. Despite these concerns, Roy attended the recently concluded winter session of Parliament. A team of doctors is currently monitoring his condition closely.
