BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
Chaos broke out today at the Hooghly SDO office when Chunchura MLA Asit Mazumdar, accompanied by Trinamool Congress party workers, protested against alleged irregularities in Form-7 submissions. The TMC claimed that BJP workers were filing forms in an undemocratic manner, causing inconvenience to ordinary citizens. The protest quickly escalated after the MLA and his supporters went to the upper floor of the office.
During the protest, MLA Mazumdar and his supporters reportedly tore Form-7 documents, creating significant commotion inside the office. Police were present at the time but did not intervene initially. The act of tearing forms led to heightened tension among office staff and citizens waiting to submit their documents.
In response to the unrest, a large police contingent was deployed to the SDO office to restore order. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, while political parties continue to accuse each other of escalating the dispute and creating obstacles for citizens in administrative processes.
