Enforcement Directorate Director Rahul Navin arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday, marking his first visit to the city after the recent I-PAC episode that triggered major political reactions. According to reports, Navin is in the city for a two-day visit and is scheduled to attend an important internal review meeting.
The visit comes weeks after ED officials conducted raids in connection with the coal scam investigation at the residence and office of Pratik Jain, co-founder of election strategy firm I-PAC. The raids took a political turn when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Jain’s residence following the searches, an incident that intensified debate across political circles.
There is also speculation that during his stay, the ED Director may meet Governor C. V. Ananda Bose at Lok Bhavan, though no official confirmation has been issued so far. Navin’s presence in the city, coupled with heightened security, has led to discussions that the coal scam probe and related cases may see renewed momentum.
