India dominate New Zealand with historic fastest 200+ chase and 10-over run chase to secure 3-0 sweep

India produced a series of record run chases against New Zealand in their recent T20I series, showcasing explosive batting and clinical execution across two historic victories that helped them clinch a 3-0 series sweep. The performances saw India rewrite parts of the T20I record books with their pace and dominance.

In the second T20I at Raipur, New Zealand posted a challenging 208/6, but India chased it down with authority, reaching 209/3 in just 15.2 overs — a display that set the fastest 200-plus chase by balls remaining among full-member nations, with 28 balls to spare. India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 82 (37) and Ishan Kishan contributed 76 (32), sharing a 122-run stand in 48 balls that condemned the Kiwi attack. Earlier in the series’ third T20I at Guwahati, India delivered another startling chase by knocking down a target of 154 in just 10 overs with eight wickets in hand, finishing with 60 balls to spare. Abhishek Sharma starred with a rapid 68 (20) while Suryakumar once again anchored the innings with 57 (26), putting India firmly in control throughout the pursuit.

Across the series, India also recorded several complementary feats: Abhishek Sharma hit one of the fastest T20I fifties by an Indian (14 balls), and the team produced a blistering 94/2 Powerplay score in the Raipur chase — one of India’s highest against New Zealand in T20Is. With the victories, India not only sealed the series but also extended a run of 11 consecutive T20I series wins by a full-member team, equalling a long-standing world mark.
