A Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV caught fire in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district, triggering concerns over electric vehicle safety. The incident occurred in a public area, drawing the attention of locals as flames engulfed the vehicle within a short span of time.
According to initial information, the electric SUV suddenly burst into flames while it was stationary, causing panic in the surrounding area. Visuals from the scene showed thick smoke and fire rapidly spreading across the vehicle, eventually leaving it severely damaged. Fire tenders were alerted and reached the spot to bring the blaze under control. Officials said the fire was doused after sustained efforts, and the affected area was secured to prevent further risk. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed inspection to ascertain whether the blaze was triggered by a battery-related issue or another technical fault. Mahindra has not issued an official statement at the time of reporting.
