Panic gripped the busy Lake Town area on Thursday evening after a fire broke out at the well-known Shimla Biryani restaurant. The blaze reportedly originated in the kitchen area during peak hours, causing a thick plume of smoke to billow from the premises located near the iconic Clock Tower.
The sudden sight of flames led to a chaotic scene as customers and staff rushed out of the building. Fortunately, the swift arrival of two fire engines ensured that the flames were contained before they could spread to the main dining hall or neighboring commercial structures.
The incident occurred just days after a massive fatal fire in Anandpur, heightening the sense of alarm among local residents and the business community regarding fire safety protocols in the city's crowded eateries.
