Bus looses control in Haldia, collides with motorcycle, family of 3 killed

A tragic road accident at Ghosh Chowk under the Sutahata police station area in Haldia claimed the lives of three people, all belonging to the same family. The incident occurred when a bus reportedly lost control and rammed into a roadside water pipeline before colliding with a motorcycle. The impact of the collision was severe. The motorcycle, which was carrying three members of a family, was hit directly by the out-of-control bus. All three riders died on the spot due to the force of the crash, while chaos gripped the area immediately after the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Arup Mandal (50), the head of the family, his wife Deepu Mandal (45), and their daughter Shrijita Mandal (13). The family were residents of Krishnanagar in the Sutahata area and were travelling together on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.

Most of the passengers travelling on the bus sustained injuries in the crash. Local people rushed to the spot and alerted the police, after which injured passengers were assisted and traffic movement in the area was affected for some time as rescue and clearance operations were carried out.
