Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has broken its silence on the controversy surrounding Pakistan’s reported boycott of the IND vs PAK match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla stated that the Indian board fully agrees with the ICC’s position on the matter.
Reacting to the ongoing row, Shukla said that the BCCI stands aligned with the world cricket body and that any future decisions would be taken only after proper consultation with the ICC. The controversy intensified after reports emerged that the ICC had warned the Pakistan Cricket Board of consequences if it chose to pull out of the match. The ICC’s stance is understood to be firm, emphasizing adherence to tournament commitments and regulations.
With the T20 World Cup 2026 still some time away, the situation remains unresolved. However, BCCI’s public support for the ICC signals a unified front, as cricket authorities seek to prevent disruptions to one of the sport’s most anticipated encounters.
