Two people lost their lives in a tragic road accident in the Rangapani area under the Siliguri subdivision on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred following a head-on collision between a speeding truck and a motorcycle, leaving the area in shock and mourning.
According to local sources, the impact of the collision was extremely severe, resulting in the instant death of both young men riding the motorcycle. One of the deceased has been identified as Robin Soren, a resident of the Khoribari police station area. The identity of the second victim is yet to be confirmed by authorities.
After receiving information about the accident, police from the Rangapani outpost under Bagdogra police station rushed to the spot. The bodies of the victims were recovered and sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Eyewitnesses claimed that both the truck and the motorcycle were travelling at high speed, which led to the drivers losing control and causing the fatal collision.
