Adverse circumstances failed to break the determination of a student appearing for the secondary examination, as timely intervention by the police ensured her dream stayed alive. When the student’s participation in the examination became uncertain due to serious illness, the Farakka police stepped in to make special arrangements for her to take the exam from the hospital.
Just before the examination was scheduled to begin, the student’s health suddenly deteriorated, forcing her immediate admission to Arjunpur Primary Hospital. With her condition worsening, it appeared unlikely that she would be able to appear for the crucial examination, despite her strong desire to do so. Recognising both the severity of her illness and her determination, Sujit Pal, the officer-in-charge of Farakka Police Station, took personal initiative. He promptly coordinated with the education department and hospital authorities to explore the possibility of conducting the examination inside the hospital, in accordance with board rules.
Following his efforts, special arrangements were swiftly put in place. Under strict security protocols, question papers were delivered to the hospital, and the student successfully took the examination from her hospital bed, turning a moment of crisis into a story of resolve and administrative support.
