Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
The Congress expelled former Punjab MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu from the party, just days after she announced her resignation. The decision marks a sharp escalation in the standoff between the party leadership and the former legislator, who has been openly critical of the organisation’s functioning. Soon after her expulsion, Navjot Kaur Sidhu hit back at the Congress leadership, directly targeting Rahul Gandhi. Using a “Pappu” jibe, she accused the party’s top brass of being disconnected from ground realities and failing to understand the concerns of grassroots workers and leaders.
Sidhu alleged that her repeated efforts to highlight organisational weaknesses and issues faced by workers were ignored. She claimed that instead of addressing internal problems, the leadership chose to silence dissenting voices, which, according to her, has weakened the party in Punjab.
The expulsion has added to the ongoing churn within the Punjab Congress, which has been struggling with internal differences and leadership challenges. Sidhu’s sharp remarks are expected to intensify political debate in the state, especially ahead of upcoming electoral battles.
