Defending the Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana, Bengal minister Shashi Panja said the Mamata Banerjee government is providing the scheme’s benefits equally to all eligible women, without any political or party-based discrimination. Panja stressed that the initiative is purely a public welfare scheme aimed at women’s economic empowerment, adding that Rs 1,500 has begun reaching beneficiaries’ bank accounts, offering relief to lakhs of families across the state.
