Howrah police carried out a late-night raid under the jurisdiction of Domjur police station, leading to the arrest of two accused persons in connection with a case registered at Posta police station. The operation was conducted by a team from the Watch Section and DD during the intervening night of February 7 and February 8.
According to police sources, the arrests are linked to Posta police station Case No. 13, dated February 1, 2026, registered under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused were traced and apprehended following sustained surveillance and intelligence inputs. The arrested individuals have been identified as Raj Kumar Nonia, aged 23, son of Narayan Nonia, and Kundan Kumar Mondal, aged 22, son of Chamak Lal Mondal. Both are residents of Tinpahar police station area in Sahebganj district of Jharkhand.
Police officials said the accused are being interrogated to ascertain their roles in the case and to determine whether others are involved. Further investigation is underway, and legal procedures are being followed as per norms.
