Delhi-NCR woke up to a grim Valentine’s Day after the bodies of a young couple were discovered inside a parked car near Noida Sector 39. Both victims had gunshot wounds to the head. The car was locked from inside and a pistol was recovered from the driver’s hand.
Investigators said preliminary findings suggest the man first shot the woman and then himself. Empty cartridges were found inside the vehicle. The deceased were identified as residents of Noida Sector 58 and Trilokpuri in Delhi. Families had reported them missing since Friday.
A note recovered at the scene claimed the two had been in a relationship for years and that a dispute over her impending marriage to someone else triggered the act. Police initially suspected suicide but later treated it as a murder-suicide linked to a relationship conflict.
Senior officers and forensic teams inspected the spot and the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination. Police said further investigation is underway to reconstruct the final sequence of events.
