Several passengers were injured, two of them critically, after two buses collided near the gate of Biswa Bangla Gate in New Town on the Salt Lake–Airport bound road. The accident occurred when the two buses were reportedly attempting to overtake each other, and one vehicle rammed into the other from behind during the manoeuvre.
The collision caused significant commotion in the area. Police from New Town Police Station reached the spot and seized both buses. The injured were rushed to a private hospital for treatment, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
