The controversy escalated after councillor Mahesh Sharma allegedly remarked that “Meena Purohit should be taken to that crematorium.” The comment drew immediate protest from Meena Purohit, who termed it an insult to a woman and demanded an apology on the floor of the House. The sharp exchange further intensified tensions during the civic body’s budget session.
