Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, with the reason for his hospitalisation yet to be officially disclosed. The 90-year-old writer was taken to the medical facility earlier today. As of now, there has been no formal statement from the Khan family regarding his health condition.
His son, superstar Salman Khan, was seen arriving at the hospital soon after news of the admission surfaced. The actor was later photographed exiting the premises wearing a black T-shirt and a cap, surrounded by security personnel. He did not stop to address the media gathered outside the hospital.
With limited information available about Salim Khan’s medical status, fans and members of the film fraternity have expressed concern and extended wishes for his speedy recovery. Social media platforms were flooded with messages hoping for positive updates.
Salim Khan is regarded as one of the most influential screenwriters in Hindi cinema. As one half of the iconic Salim–Javed duo alongside Javed Akhtar, he helped redefine mainstream Bollywood storytelling in the 1970s. Their collaborations produced landmark films such as Sholay, Deewaar, Zanjeer and Don, shaping the “angry young man” era and elevating the stature of screenwriters in the industry.
In November 2025, Salim Khan celebrated his 90th birthday with family and close associates. Until an official medical bulletin is issued, well-wishers continue to await clarity on his condition and hope for reassuring news from the family.
