Three suspected youths were arrested during an anti-crime watch operation at Panskura Railway Station in West Bengal on Wednesday evening. The Government Railway Police Station (GRPS) team detained the trio after noticing their suspicious movements while patrolling the station premises. A search led to the recovery of gold and silver jewellery, cash, mobile phones and other items from their possession.
The accused identified themselves as Mohammad Raj (25), Mohammad Kaife (24) and Mohammad Aman (24), all residents of Patna district in Bihar. According to police, the suspects failed to produce valid documents related to the recovered valuables. During interrogation, they allegedly admitted that the items had been stolen from a house near the Panskura bus stand.
Police have seized the recovered articles and formally arrested the three accused. A case has been registered at Panskura GRPS Police Station, and further investigation is underway to verify the source of the items and ascertain if the accused are linked to other theft cases.
