Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
A family of five was found dead inside their home in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district, with police suspecting a case of murder-suicide. The victims include Satyaveer alias Shyamveer, 50, his wife Ramshri, 48, and their three children — Prachi, 12, Amarvati, 10, and Girish, 9. Preliminary findings suggest the man allegedly killed his family before taking his own life.
According to police, locals alerted authorities after the family had not been seen for two to three days. The house, located near an Indian Petrol Pump on Etah Road under the Amapur Kotwali area, was locked from the inside. When officers broke open the door, they found Satyaveer hanging, while the bodies of his wife and children were discovered lying under a quilt on a bed.
Senior officials said there were no visible signs of forced entry, strengthening suspicion of a murder-suicide. A forensic team and dog squad were called to the scene, and initial procedures were completed before the bodies were sent to the district hospital for postmortem examination.
Police said Satyaveer worked as a welder and lived with his family in a single rented room. During preliminary questioning, locals indicated that the family had been facing financial hardship, which investigators believe could be a possible motive. However, authorities have stressed that the exact cause will be determined after the postmortem report and further inquiry.
Family members have been informed, and an investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and confirm the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
